| Shangri La Tea Party |
|
9:30 - 10:30 am
We won’t be dumping our tea into the bayou on this adventure! Instead, you’re invited to put on your favorite floral hat, grab your tea cup, and come over to the garden. We will sample several homemade teas (and enjoy a few tea cakes too)! As we stroll through the gardens, we will identify plants that produce wonderful teas. Then we will share tips on how to collect and dry leaves. This program is intended for adults and tea lovers! |

| Teacher Workshop: STARLAB |
|
The STARLAB is a portable planetarium capable of holding up to 28 students. Inside, a projector shows the night sky devoid of light pollutants. In addition to teaching about constellations, planets, moon phases, and mythology, teachers can also engage in cross-curriculum teaching using cylinders on the continental drift, geography, and the human cell.
Each year, Shangri La sponsors workshops to allow teachers to develop the expertise to use this resource in their classrooms. After their training, teachers are allowed free use of the STARLAB at schools throughout the region, as it is easy to set up and transport to schools.
To reserve a seat at the workshop or for more information call 409.670.9113.
